How to travel with PKP Intercity during the epidemic? Passenger Guide

PKP Intercity ensures safe travelling in an epidemic of coronavirus.

We would like to remind you that starting from May 15th 2021 the number of passengers in PKP Intercity trains cannot exceed 100% of the number of seats, berths and sleeping places.

Travel planning

1. Plan your journey and buy the ticket well ahead

Plan your journey earlier and try not to buy the ticket at the last moment. When booking a journey ahead, you have a guarantee that you will make the journey on a date you have planned. Furthermore, this will allow you to benefit from attractive offers and pay less. For more information about our offers go here. The sooner we know how popular tickets for a given connection are, the easier it is for us to adjust the carriage offer and consequently enable as many interested people to travel as possible. Remember that PKP Intercity, according to the Regulation of the Council of Ministers, allows now to purchase tickets hundred per cent of all seats available in train carriages.

2. Buy ticket via remote channels

We advise you to buy tickets through remote channels, such as a website intercity.pl or a mobile application IC Mobile Navigator. This is a simple, quick, convenient and recommended way of purchasing. You will save your time, as otherwise, you would have to spend it by getting to a ticket office.

If you buy a ticket at a ticket office, try to pay in a cashless manner. We have increased limits for contactless payments up to PLN 100 so that you do not have to enter your PIN code.

3. Get a seat reservation for a season ticket holder

If you already have a season ticket and are planning to use it for a journey, remember to get a seat reservation. This will enable us to adjust the offer, if the expected number of travellers be high.

4. Are no seats available? Check other trains

If tickets for the train which you wish to travel by have already been sold out, check other convenient connections available on our current offer. To search for connections, go to the homepage of intercity.pl.

5. Food and beverages during the journey

For the sake of safety and comfort of passengers, special sanitary rules have been introduced in the catering area. 50% of the seats are available, and passengers are obliged to cover their mouths and noses, as is the case throughout the train. The mask can be removed during the meal after taking a seat at a disinfected table. Passengers are also required to disinfect their hands before entering the food service area and to keep a safe distance

Journey

1. Cover your mouth and nose

A train is a public place. Do not forget that your mouth and nose must be covered throughout the entire journey. This principle must be obeyed both on trains and at railway stations.

2. Keep a safe distance

To protect your and other travellers’ health and safety – remember to keep a safe distance from other passengers.

Health and safety of our passengers and employees are our primary concern. We want to thank you for being with us and wish you a nice, safe journey.
