Italy
With its extensive railway network, Italy is ideal to visit by train. Travelling between large metropolitan areas, as well as small towns is not a problem.
Visiting Venice could be an interesting experience as it is the only city of its kind in the world. Entering the city of lovers is an event in itself – the city can be accessed by a spectacular railway bridge that runs over water.
Then it’s worth traveling in the direction of Milan, the Italian capital of fashion known for its spectacular Milan Cathedral, Sforza Castle, and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
The journey to Italy wouldn’t be complete without visiting Rome and Vatican, where you can see and touch history on every step.
If you still haven’t got enough of Italy, you should travel down south to experience the distinctive ambient of that part of the country. The Interrail ticket covers ferry routes from the southern coast to Sicily, where you can see the Etna or travel further on to reach one of the Greek islands or even Spain.
