Simply TICKET - a ticket and seat reservation in one
On 19 March of this year we are introducing a new solution, Po prostu BILET, or Simply TICKET, which will replace the ticket and seat reservation used thus far. This means that the passenger will receive at purchase just a single form.
On 19 March of this year we – PKP Intercity S.A. – are
introducing a new solution, Po prostu BILET, or Simply TICKET, which will
replace the ticket and seat reservation used thus far. At purchase the
passenger will receive just a single form. This offer was developed to improve
the comfort experienced in travelling and monitor the use of trains.
Simply TICKET will
replace the ticket and seat reservation used at present with a single form, one
which indicates a seat. In the event that all of the seats available on a given
train are sold, the passenger will be informed of this at the purchase stage
and will have a choice. The passenger alone will take the decision as to how
the journey will proceed. It will be possible to purchase a ticket without the
guarantee of a seat or to purchase a ticket for another train.
Thanks to the new
solution, the carrier – fully informed as to level of train use – will be able
to adjust the number of carriages to the real demand for space, which will
translate into comfort in the journey of the passenger.
The change will not be
linked with an increase in prices. In the case of Express InterCity, Express
and first class on Twoje Linie Kolejowe ('Your Railway Lines', TLK), where so
far reservation of space has been in force, the ticket price will remain the
sum of the charges for the journey and the seat reservation. However, in second
class on TLK the passenger will no longer pay an extra PLN 3 for a seat.
Simply TICKET is a
further stage in the construction of a dynamic sales system. It is a second
step to follow the offer introduced at the beginning of the year, Wcześniej =
Taniej, or Earlier = Cheaper. Every passenger buying a ticket at least 7 days
in advance of the journey receives, thanks to this, a discount of up to 10% of
the price.
“As we announced, we are changing,” says Marcin Celejewski,
Member of the Board and Commercial Director at PKP Intercity S.A. “The
solutions introduced are to encourage the earlier planning of the journey,
thanks to which our customer is able to select an offer attractive in terms of
price and enjoy the guarantee of a seat, while we, the carrier, are responsible
for forecasting level of use and see that there is an appropriate number of
carriages.” He adds: “The Simply TICKET solution means a greater level of
comfort experienced in travelling and the chance of an end to the crowd on
trains.”
It will be possible to
find information on the subject of the Simply TICKET solution at locations
including www.intercity.pl and information
points at stations.
