And this coming Monday – 12 August – the train will be arriving in Wrocław. It is passing through on its way for testing, following which it will obtain Polish safety certification.
The EIC Premium category train will begin running from December 2014. The lowest ticket price is PLN 49. Journeys made with this train will also be eligible for statutory discounts, meaning that passengers with the right to these, e.g. students, can travel more cheaply still. Thirty-five per cent of PKP Intercity passengers are travellers making use of statutory concessions.
Trains in the EIC Premium category will be for everyone,” says Marcin Celejewski, PKP Intercity board member for commercial affairs. “Ticket sales will be based on a dynamic sales system, meaning no single fixed fare, but prices from PLN 49 which will depend on factors including purchase date, travel time, demand and route.”
This coming Monday the train is arriving in Poland. The public will have the opportunity to see the Polish Pendolino in Wrocław at high noon. Following a two-hour presentation, the EIC Premium train will travel to do Żmigród, where – at the Test Track of the Railway Scientific and Research Institute – the dynamic testing will begin. The operation of the train will also be tested on journeys along railway lines.
