Ticket price for the Polish Pendolino

And this coming Monday – 12 August – the train will be arriving in Wrocław. It is passing through on its way for testing, following which it will obtain Polish safety certification.

The EIC Premium
category train will begin running from December 2014. The lowest ticket price
is PLN 49. Journeys made with this train will
also be eligible for statutory discounts, meaning that passengers with the right to these, e.g.
students, can travel more cheaply still. Thirty-five per cent of PKP Intercity
passengers are travellers making use of statutory concessions.
“Trains in the EIC Premium category will be for
everyone,” says Marcin Celejewski, PKP Intercity
board member for commercial affairs. “Ticket sales will be based on a dynamic
sales system, meaning no single fixed fare, but prices from PLN 49 which will
depend on factors including purchase date, travel time, demand and route.”
This coming Monday the
train is arriving in Poland. The public will have the opportunity to see the
Polish Pendolino in Wrocław at high noon. Following a two-hour presentation,
the EIC Premium train will travel to do Żmigród, where – at the Test Track of
the Railway Scientific and Research Institute – the dynamic testing will begin.
The operation of the train will also be tested on journeys along railway lines.
