In Poznań, all roads lead to the market square, full of monuments and picturesque tenements.
Why Poznań
Nowhere else but in the market square, the Poznań goats appear on the tower of the Renaissance town hall at 12 a.m. and butt. The colourful old tenements around the market square create an unusual atmosphere of the old town in the capital of Wielkopolska. Equally magical is Ostrów Tumski. This island contains a cathedral with sarcophaguses of the first Polish rulers. In Poznań, you can also find the youngest monarchal residence in Europe, that is the Imperial Castle from the beginning of the 20th century. The best place to combine shopping with entertainment, or even with admiring works of art, is Stary Browar (Old Brewery), as the name itself suggests, located in the renovated 19th century brewery. It would be quite a mistake to leave Poznań without tasting St. Martin’s croissants filled with white poppy!
